The institute's Scientific Advisory Board
To ensure the high quality of scientific research in the long term, all institutes of the Max Planck Society are regularly reviewed by independent advisory boards. Tailored to the respective field of research, the advisory board is composed of experts from leading research institutions and universities worldwide. The Advisory Board evaluates the resource allocation of the departments and research groups. This ensures that only cutting-edge research areas of the highest international standard are addressed. The members of the Advisory Board are selected by the President of the Max Planck Society on the basis of proposals from the institute and appointed for a maximum term of six years, with a replacement of some of the members every three years..
